The Worst Feeling

You know what the worst feeling in the world is? When your kiddo has a stuffy nose and she's moaning because she can't breathe. We had a pretty rough night last night, I made the hubs go downstairs at about 3am to get some rest before work. I finally got the baby to fall asleep in bed with me, maybe around 4 am? Luckily she slept pretty late today so I was able to get some rest and be able to function!

But I have to say, I wish I had M's spirit and determination when I am sick. Once we finally got out of bed and I showered she played in the kitchen with the recycling for quite awhile. In the afternoon she had much less energy but still wanted to play. Gotta love babies. Here's to a hopefully better night's sleep since there are 12.5 miles on the table for tomorrow AM!

Sunday Run Recap

Sunday morning I met up with the girls not knowing what kind of weather we were in for. Temp was 40, felt like 32 and was dropping by the hour. Also there was a potential for a major rain during our run.

Luckily, all we got were some wind gusts that almost knocked us off our feet a few times. We did 4.6 miles in 52 minutes. That's pretty fast for me, especially to sustain for 4.6 miles. After the princess half I am definitely gonna get my speedwork on! I can't wait!

Monday I woke up at 2:30AM and not because M woke up, because I felt terrible. I didn't fall back asleep until about 5AM. Not fun, I'm feeling better today and hopefully by Thursday I will be back to it. Gotta get my treadmill run in and then if it warms up hopefully 12.5 miles this weekend.

I can't believe it's less than 5 weeks to go!!!!! I can't wait to go to Florida and to Disney!

I made this delicious meal Sunday evening.. Chicken Tikka Masala I made a few tweaks and it was delicious. I will definitely be making it again!

10 months

I can't believe I am writing a 10 month update and that I'm already thinking of birthday party ideas for M. How have 10 months already gone by?!

Here's some stats:

Height: 28 inches
Weight: 19.5 pounds
Eating: nursing, avocado, puffs, yogurt, bananas, pears, shredded chicken, carrots, cheese, bread, pasta, peas
Favorite toys: LINKS! The edges of the interlocking playmat, kitchen items (spatulas/tupperware), books,
Words: Mama (more of a chatter but I think we're counting it), and I think you said Ella last week for Bella.
Teeth: None (though there's a hard white spot on your gums.. so maybe?)

Watching you grow is so amazing, to think just 10 short months ago you were content just being held. You still want to be held and love to snuggle, but now you have so much to explore around the house. You love taking out books to read and look at the pictures. You're still a big fan of the recycling bin and checking out what goodies are in there. You love to hold Bella's toys and pet her (even though you poke her in the eye sometimes). We visited Ollie's house the other day and you had the best belly laugh while he was playing with all of his toys. You are a great baby in public, we can bring you to restaurants and you are happy as can be sitting there and eating your meal. You took your first trip to Jay Peak a few weeks ago and met a new friend in the family area.

Mission Complete

11.42 hard hilly Vermont miles are complete! Only two more long runs between me and the Princess Half. I wasn't really feeling the run this morning but thankfully I had my two running buddies to keep me motivated. To be perfectly honest if they weren't there I probably would have turned around as we got to the first hill. I had a terrible night sleep, got to bed at 1 after work, M woke up at 4:30 to eat and then back to bed until 7:30 when she was raring to go. But we made it and now that it's done I'm thrilled.

I think it's time for some new shoes though, my knees are starting to hurt from the added mileage. I want to head somewhere where I can bring the shoes home and run in them for awhile to make sure I like them!

Back at it again today, got on the treadmill after my chiropractor appointment and did 3 miles in 34 minutes (the extra minute on the screen is just slowing down the treadmill). One of my goals for the year is after the half to start doing speedwork once outside is available again. I would like to run a 5K in under 30 minutes. I think my treadmill workouts will help that since I use varying speeds, but a track would help even more! It felt really good to get that workout done and it flew by! Not too many more weekday runs before the half. After my 4 minute warmup I did intervals of 30 seconds at 5, then 30 seconds at 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 etc up until 6.5 then back down.
M entertained herself the whole time by playing with her toys and hamming it up to anyone who would look at her. I mean why wouldn't you want to look at her?! When I was done and went to take her play area down I moved the wall she was using to balance herself and she stood for 5 seconds! Yesterday she was cruising along the couch, so I bet walking is in our near future!

Cruising!

As of today M is officially cruising along furniture. Much to Bella's (our dog) dismay. M went the whole length of the couch today. Trouble's coming!!

And for my running: Tomorrow I will be running at the chiropractor on the treadmill! I skipped Monday because it was 8 degrees out and I didn't have time to head over to the chiro to run. I think I'm going to change my appts to Mondays so I can go over on Wednesday to run as well. They don't have appts until the afternoon on Wednesdays so I can pretty much go anytime in the AM for a run! I can't believe I am going to be running 11 miles this weekend. It's crazy. It's going to be warm for January in Vermont.

Belated 9 Month Update

Wow M, I can't believe it's been 9 months since you were born. So much has happened since March 21st!!

Here's some stats:

Height: 27.5 inches
Weight: 19 pounds
Eating: nursing, avocado, puffs, yogurt, bananas , pears
Favorite toys: barrel of monkeys, balls, stuffed bunny and links.

Listening to you laugh and watching you explore the house is so sweet. You recently found out there are other rooms in the house because Daddy was working on a paper in the dining room. You love to hang out in the kitchen and get things out of the recycling to play with, especially bottles. You like looking at the oven because you can see the baby's reflection and sometimes I turn the light on so you can see what's inside. You are so busy doing everything and aren't really interested in napping right now because you'll miss something. This month you also learned how to clap which has been fun. When we go back to music class in January you'll be all set to play!

First Run

>
> Happy new year!! Started off my goal of 1000 miles for the year with a lively run through Burlington. My feet were bricks when we started from waiting outside. Runvermont put on a great race and I will definitely be doing another race of theirs again.
>
> More on my goals tomorrow. Right now I'm enjoying the last night with my Fam before life starts up again!
